RiverQuest conjures up the Spirits of the Riverfront this fall aboard EXPLORER, the world's first green vessel built expressly for education. Our fifth-annual installment features our crew of RiverQuest Ghost Explorers*** sailing on a darkened vessel.
Passengers hear 13 ghastly tales--some truer than others--of life and after-life along the rivers and waterways of Southwestern Pennsylvania. RiverQuest educators share stories of storm-ravaged rivers and lakes, legends of deadly fog... and even the mysterious theories surrounding the ghost bomber of the Mon. Other seasonal activities and sweet treats are included. Because of the nature of the program content, this tour is most appropriate for visitors ages 8 and up.
Boarding begins 10 minutes prior to trip. Tours depart the North Shore Dock at 7:00pm sharp. Sorry--no late boarding is permitted. Please note: there is a charge for parking in Carnegie Science Center's parking lots, based on availability. Plan extra time for traffic and parking, if necessary!
Program operates rain or shine, and some portions of the program are held topside on the covered observation deck where we can see the city. Adult tickets (ages 16 and up) are $20; Seniors (62+) and children 15 and under are $15. For additional information or for assistance with purchasing tickets, call RiverQuest at 412-231-2712 during normal business hours. Note that wind or other adverse weather or river conditions will necessitate conducting the program on the vessel parked at the dock.
